The Methodist Hospital of Chicago implemented a hospital-wide radiology dictation system, aiming to facilitate their radiology reading processes.

In 2011, the Methodist Hospital of Chicago implemented a hospital-wide radiology dictation system, aiming to facilitate their radiology reading processes. Initially, there was no communication between the hospitals existing main PACS, iQ-WEBX, their iQ-VIEW reading stations, and the new radiology dictation system. Consequently, the hospital approached our sales partner Precision Diagnostic Systems, Inc. to create a solution for integrating the three systems in order to communicate the information associated with an exam that has been opened by the radiologist for dictation.

In just 2 1/2 months, Precision Diagnostic Systems and IMAGE managed to implement a customized solution, successfully calling iQ-VIEW from the EMR and calling the Dolbey Fusion voice recognition from iQ-VIEW. This success was due in part to working closely with 3rd party vendors in a cooperative manner and unified objective.

Radiology professionals at the Methodist Hospital now enjoy faster dictation times and much more efficient use of hospital resources. Art Wanatowicz, Radiology Manager at the hospital, is pleased with the solution and implementation delivered by Ralph Nudo and his Precision team: “Methodist Hospital has been extremely satisfied with the IMAGE Information Systems solutions provided by Precision Diagnostic Systems. The custom integration with our dictation system was performed in a very professional and timely manner”.
