iQ IMAGE chosen to update one of the largest PACS in Latin America
sale and growing relationship with aycan expanding combined footprint in the region
Rostock, Germany and Rochester, New York, April 6, 2022. IMAGE Information Systems (iQ IMAGE), headquartered in Rostock, Germany, and aycan Medical Systems, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., announced today that the largest diagnostic imaging provider in Colombia, and one of the largest in Latin America, IDIME, has contracted iQ IMAGE, supported by aycan, to update their PACS network. The sale and the expanding reseller relationship between the two global leaders in medical imaging is accelerating business growth and expanding their combined footprint in Latin America.
"We chose iQ IMAGE to upgrade and expand our PACS network given our nearly twenty-year relationship and the demonstrated benefits of their PACS products and service support over this time," said Mike Spielberger, Chief of Radiology Informatics, IDIME. "These updates support our growth across Latin America and make our goal of providing a fully integrated solution to our customers a reality."
Under the contract, IDIME's 105 iQ-VIEW workstations will be updated, and 11 new iQ-WEB PACS servers will be added to their network of 19 iQ-PACS servers, all of which support 65 imaging facilities across Latin America.
"We're proud to be entrusted by IDIME to continue to support them with advanced imaging technologies necessary to help them grow their business and provide the latest services to their customers," said Dr. Ãrpád Bischof, Director, IMAGE Information Systems Europe.
Update of the workstations and installation of the new servers will provide a faster and more stable workflow, including faster integration with the RIS ATHENEA and faster opening of studies with enhanced DICOM. Additional functionality, such as a patient portal, will provide quick and easy communications between physicians, patients, and health insurance providers.
"The contract with IDIME demonstrates how iQ IMAGE global resources and the newly added support from our exclusive U.S. reseller, aycan, are allowing us to further expand in the Americas," said Mike Jensen, Director of IMAGE Information Systems' North American Operations. Frank Burkhardt, aycan Director, North & Latin American Operations, added, "With our continued collaboration and the ability of both our companies to offer each other's complementary Windows and Mac-based portfolios, we expect more business like IDIME to come about."
The vendor-neutral Windows-based iQ-VIEW DICOM viewer is a highly functional advanced image-processing tool and DICOM PACS workstation for conventional, multi-slice, and other image reading. The FDA 510(k) cleared medical device can be used for primary diagnosis or review purposes. iQ-WEB is a complete, easy-to-use, and affordable PACS solution. aycan offers Mac-based PACS solutions, including aycan store (PACS) and aycan workstation.
Conducted remotely, installation of the new servers will take place immediately, with software updates to the workstations taking place over the next two years with no disruption in service expected.
