iQ-VIEW printing function blocked by Windows update
On March 9, Microsoft published the cumulative update KB5000802 for Windows 10, which caused various issues in interaction with printers. Also, iQ-VIEW with its printing function was affected.
So, if your customers should experience white pages coming out of the printer, when, in fact, they wanted iQ-VIEW to print the medical studies prepared in the application’s print manager, then this particular Windows update is the one to blame. It impedes the correct sending of print jobs to a Windows printer.
On March 19, 2021, Microsoft has provided another patch, which fixes these printing issues, not only in iQ-VIEW but also in the other printing interactions.
If your customers still experience printing challenges with iQ-VIEW or otherwise, here is what you can do to help them:
- Run a search for the latest Windows updates on the affected systems.
- Check for the appropriate patch. It is identified by the following KB number (depending on the Windows version currently installed):
- Windows 10, version 20H2 and Windows Server, version 20H2 (KB5001649)
- Windows 10, version 2004 and Windows Server, version 2004 (KB5001649)
- Windows 10, version 1909 and Windows Server, version 1909 (KB5001648)
- Windows 10, version 1809 and Windows Server 2019 (KB5001638)
- Windows 10, version 1803 (KB5001634)
- Windows 10, version 1607 and Windows Server 2016 (KB5001633)
- Windows 10, version 1507 (KB5001631)
- Select the patch and install it.
- Update iQ-VIEW to version >= 3.1.5.
This will just take a few minutes and may require a restart of the system. Afterwards, check that printing works again properly.
