Wake Technical Community College, NC, USA
Wake Tech approached IMAGE’s sales partner Triangle X-ray, with a desire to upgrade an antiquated Radiology program for their new Health Sciences campus facility.
Wake Technical Community College, or Wake Tech, is North Carolina’s largest community college comprised of five campuses, two training centers and several community sites in the state’s capital city of Raleigh. It serves more than 66,000 students per year and enriches their lives by providing quality education, training, and workforce development in order to meet the lifelong education needs of a diverse, growing community.
Wake Tech approached IMAGE’s sales partner Triangle X-ray, also of Raleigh, North Carolina, with a desire to upgrade an antiquated Radiology program for their new Health Sciences campus facility.
To begin, Wake Tech needed to replace their legacy PACS solution with a more technologically advanced system since it was becoming increasingly more costly to support. They wanted a solution that would accommodate the entire student body enrolled in the radiology program. The image management solution needed to provide access for all students whether they were on or off campus. Wake Tech required that students be able to review images locally and remotely, import/export images, annotate, and burn CDs. IMAGE’s software was able to perform these tasks easily, in addition to providing many other features.
IMAGE Information Systems was able to deliver a complete package for archiving and web viewing within iQ-WEBX, as well as include 45 concurrent diagnostic iQ-VIEW workstation seats all within their set budget. They have seen a tremendous improvement in their workflow due to adequate access for every student. Students are now able to burn CDs from any Radiography Program PC, annotate their images, and become accustomed to manipulating images from any location inside or outside the facility. Student technicians can also store their study images and save them from one semester to the next. Through the strong partnership of Triangle X-Ray and IMAGE Information Systems, the entire solution was implemented in the spring of 2013, earlier than expected, and on time for the opening semester of the new campus. The installation in a domain environment was quick and painless, and has been functioning flawlessly since implementation.
Debbie Wood, the department head of Radiography at Wake Tech, had the following to say:
“The recently implemented iQ-WEBX PACS and iQ-VIEW solution at Wake Tech’s Radiography Program has given our educational staff the ability to provide an elite educational program using the most current radiology tools. This product implementation will greatly enhance our student body’s preparation for their future.
We are pleased with our selection of the iQ-SYSTEM PACS products and have found that in working with this technology, we are better able to serve our program’s curriculum. We would recommend this solution to any institution looking to enhance their imaging experiences.”
Institutions looking to setup a PACS integrated system for a comprehensive learning environment would benefit from using Image Information Systems’ extensive line of products.
